Availability:
I work Tuesday-Thursday mornings and early afternoons.

All appointments are currently via phone and video. Some clients prefer phone calls to give their eyes a break from screens, and to feel more into their bodies. Other clients prefer video for the visual connection. Both work well for somatic therapy.

Cancellation Policy:
48 hours notice on business days is required for cancellation, or the full session fee will be due, as your appointment time has been reserved for you and so has not been available to others.

Frequency of Therapy Sessions:
I work with clients weekly or every other week to begin, as this is a frequency of therapy that gets traction on moving healing work forwards. Therapy is an investment, both material and time, towards the life you long for. Clients who have been working with me for a while may find that less frequent sessions fit their needs.

Initial Consultation:
I offer a free 15 min initial phone consultation.  While we don't enter into counselling work at this time, we will discuss your situation and how I might be able to help.  It's a good opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Somatic Therapy, and for both of us to feel out whether we would be a good fit to work together.

What are the benefits of Somatic Therapy?
Benefits can include healing from the ongoing impacts of social conditions and traumatic experiences, knowing yourself more deeply, developing skills for navigating conflict and challenging situations, and loving yourself and others more deeply.

Are you taking clients who are white?
Not at this time.  I currently reserve my time as an offering towards BIPOC healing, and to supporting the development of BIPOC practitioners, including multiracial clients and practitioners. White allies are invited to contribute solidarity funds to be applied to fees of BIPOC clients. Contact me for details.

Can I see you only for Somatic Bodywork?
No.  I practice Somatic Bodywork in conjunction with Somatic Counselling in order to most effectively support your healing.  We may have a strong focus on bodywork in our work together, depending on what you are working on, however I do not see clients for bodywork exclusively.

Are you covered by Extended Health Benefits?
Extended health benefit plans often cover Registered Social Workers.  I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your extended health benefit provider.  Contact your insurance provider to find out if your benefit plan covers the fees of Registered Social Workers.

Social Work Services are eligible to be claimed as Medical Expense Tax Credits in most provinces in Canada, including BC. See here for more information.

I am registed with the First Nations Health Authority as a Mental Health Provider. See here for information.

I am registered with the Crime Victim Assistance Program, which covers a portion of my fee ($95 per session).  See here for information on eligibility.
